What if you felt fully prepared for “unprecedented” events, inflating prices and supply chain disruptions?
No rural homestead? No worries! Your family can get prepared right in the suburbs.
Dear discerning mom,
Are you reading the news, or looking at dwindling supplies in grocery stores, and wondering if you’re ready for what is happening in the world? Supply chain disruptions, increasing food costs, record-breaking weather, wars and rumors of world war…. it’s enough to make anyone feel anxious.
And you aren’t just trying to look out for yourself. You have a family to care for too! And with all the day-to-day worries and children’s needs, maybe adding “prepare for the apocalypse” to your To Do List just doesn’t feel possible!
Maybe it makes you wish you could run away to the country and start an off-grid homestead.
I get that feeling. I’ve felt it too. The good news is, you can get ready while living in the suburbs. And you don’t need to invent 20 more hours in your week to get it all done, or turn into a crazy hoarder!
You probably have people in your life telling you that you are worrying too much, right? Maybe they tell you: “Don’t worry about the future. Just live in the moment.”
Don’t listen to them. Denial through distraction is not a solution. But it’s also not helpful to fall into a pit of paralyzing anxiety. Instead, let your legitimate concerns fuel your action.

Kayleigh Rose
Challenge Host & Group Admin
Kayleigh is unashamedly suburban, experiencing many of the same day-to-day struggles of other moms of young children. From children with medical needs to a husband who often has to work out of town, it can be hard to fit it all in. She first got into the “prepping” world through gardening and dehydrating. But upon discovering a love for making quick meals with freeze-dried food, she decided to go all-in on a long-term food storehouse!

Together,
we’ve been on a journey of building mental resilience. While we’d done some prepping already, our wake-up call came in the fall of 2020 when our youngest was diagnosed with cancer. We had to fly to Toronto for her treatments, and in the same month we discovered extensive toxic black mould in our home (all during a global pandemic). Through it all, we received incredible support from our extended family and community, but we learned a valuable lesson. We would rather be in a position to help others than to need to rely on others during a crisis. Our goal is to help you prepare for the storms of life too!
